Beautyblender sponge is an iconic beauty tool for all makeup fanatics and when the company released their first base product back in July 2018, BOUNCE foundation, it was highly welcomed.
Since the launch, the foundation has received lots of positive reviews. Following on the success, Beautyblender has been expanding their base range, Re-Dew mist was released in December 2018 and this March there were four innovative primers joining the line. I have been trying the power team over the last few weeks, please read on to find out how I got on.
Bounce Foundation

First, let’s talk packaging! I really adore the innovative packaging. It features an ingenious blender-shaped well on its front; you squeeze the foundation out directly into the well, providing the perfect spot to dip your blender into and combine liquid bronzer, primer or highlighter with your foundation! No more squeezing foundation or mixing products on the back of my hand! Furthermore, there’s a locking system so the pump is fully secured while not in use.
The foundation comes in an extensive 40 shades! I have shades 2.20 and 1.60 to try. Shade 2.20 is slightly lighter than my NC22-ish skin tone but I can make it work with bronzers etc.

Top-Bottom: shade 1.60 and shade 2.20
Texturewise, BOUNCE is not too runny or creamy with a slight whipped feel. A little goes a long way with the foundation. It glides on with ease, smooths over my pores and fine lines. The finish is beautiful, a healthy velvety semi-matte finish that doesn’t look chalky or too dewy. On my oily skin it lasts quite well over 6/7 hours with setting powder without any weird separation during wear.
I’d say BOUNCE offers a solid medium and buildable to full coverage. What I love is how lightweight it feels on and never looks too cakey.
I can confirm the hype is real! I thoroughly appreciate the packaging and enjoy the performance of the foundation!
Re-Dew Mist
This mist is glorious! It is the FINEST mist that I’ve ever come across! The pump delivers just the perfect amount and you literally can not feel the mist touching your face. Your makeup will not be disturbed!
This setting and refreshing spray is supercharged with antioxidant-infused water to help plump, refresh and hydrate skin for a gloriously dewy finish as well as protect skin from free radicals during the day.
- White birch extract: hydrate
- Hyaluronic acid: plump and lock in moisture
- Probiotics: soothe, nourish and balance the complexion
I have oily skin with some dry patches (due to retinoid treatment) and Re-Dew is perfect, takes away the powderiness of my makeup as well as refresh my look. I also use the spray to spritz my blender sponge.
Opal Essence Serum Primer

Housed in a portable pearlescent tube, this primer is great for people with dull or dry skin. The primer provides an isntant dose of hydration and is also jam-packed with botanical extracts that gradually improve skin’s appearance over time.
It has an interesting texture, a little gel-y like with a beautiful opalescent glow, which spreads out easily imparting a dewy, healthy sheen finish without any glitters. The serum primer leaves a slight tack and has a very light, pleasant soapy scent.
I strategically apply the primer to the dry areas and the high points of my face. It effectively moistures my dry patches and helps my foundation glide on effortlessly.
You can totally use the primer on its on for that natural, healthy sheen.
There are other 2 formulas available.
- THE LEVELER : smoothing primer contains niacinamide that helps blur the appearance of redness, large pores, and minimizes shine. Comes in 2 shades (Light/Medium & Tan/Deep)
- SELFIE SHIELD: Quick absorbing invisible SPF 38 dry oil primer with NO FLASHBACK! Preps skin for makeup & offers multi-spectrum protection from UVA, UVB, and HEV (AKA: the blue light from devices). Contains a blend of antioxidants Vitamin C and E to protect against pollutants and brighten skin.
Final verdict
To put it simply… I love what I’ve tried! The foundation ticks all the boxes of easy application, natural finish and has fabulous longevity. The mist is divine, the FINEST! And I need to get my hands on one the LEVELER primers!
