Lancôme La vie est belle is the story of happiness and it is the most desired fragrance since its launch. This month, Lancôme introduced its brighter, sparklier addition, La vie est belle en rose.
Just looking at the packaging makes me happy! The iconic bottle of La vie est belle features stunning two toned pink with a sweet pink filter sliced through the top of the bottle in a triangular shape, giving it a rose-tinted view on the world from within. And of course the famous organza wings of freedom! The bottle simply screams femininity, joy and ultimate happiness!
La vie est belle en rose: The Creation
The nose behind the fragrance are two of the world’s Master Perfumers, Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion.
Star Ingredients
Top Notes: Red Fruits, Bergamot, Pink Pepper
Heart Notes: Peony Accord, Damascena Rose Oil, Centifolia Rose Absolute
Base Notes: Sandalwood Oil, Patchouli, Musk.
It opens with a ripe burst of red fruits, colourful and slightly acidic. Then comes a joyful bouquet of flowers. On my skin, I get a lot of peony on a bed of roses; fresh and crispy. At the base, you get that intense sandalwood and patchouli bringing a creaminess and sensuality to the dry down. The addition of musk gives a soft, second-skin effect.
Performance
For an eau de toilette, La vie est belle en rose is mightily powerful and long lasting. Sillage and projection wise, it’s pretty intense for the first few hours or so without being too heavy. It softens gradually but really stays all day on my skin.
Personally I find La vie est belle en rose fresher, lighter and less sweet compared to the La vie est belle. I actually love that especially now that Spring and Summer are coming.
My thoughts:
Lancôme La vie est belle en rose is a great mood-enhancer and compliment-getter; delightfully sparkly, fresh and long-lasting. It truly celebrates femininity, happiness and freedom. The fragrance would make a perfect Mother’s Day gift!
Lancôme La vie est belle en rose is available in 2 sizes, 50ml (£58) and 100ml (£78), at Lancôme and retailers nationwide.
