I’ve always believed that cleansing your face with a great cleanser is how any great skincare routine starts. Personally I am an advocate for double cleansing. With my oily skin and my long-wearing makeup application, I’d like to use an oil-based first cleanse.
The whole idea behind oil cleansing is that like attracts like. Oil dissolves oil—and so it’s supposed to be the very best thing for removing ALL traces of makeup, grime and sebum without stripping or irritating your skin.
The award-winning Japanese brand SUQQU has recently brought out a new Silky Smooth Cleansing Oil. I was so privileged to have received it in a kind parcel from the brand a few weeks back.
SUQQU Silky Smooth Cleansing Oil contains triple blossom complex helping skin stay hydrated while effectively cleansing it. The main ingredients are Honey, Rose Extract, Hibiscus Extract, Lavender Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Rosehip Oil. There is a very faint floral scent which I personally find very pleasant.
How I use SUQQU Silky Smooth Cleansing Oil
- Dispense two to three pumps into the palm on one hand, apply to my dry skin, massage in gentle circular motions, including around my eyes.
- Splash on some water. Massage further. On contact with water, the oil form a milky emulsion and rinse off easily leaving no greasy residue nor film
- Next, cleanse with my second facial cleanser
I love that SUQQU Silky Smooth Cleansing Oil feels light, nourishing and satiny-smooth (think petals). My waterproof and transfer-proof face makeup is removed effectively and effortlessly. After washing it off with warm water, my skin feels fresh, supple and hydrated thanks to the botanical complex. My skin doesn’t feel tight or stripped.
I normally use a separate eye and lip makeup remover first before any cleansing. It’s a preference of mine as I find it less messy that way. On a few occasions, I have skipped the eye makeup remover and went straight on with SUQQU Silky Smooth Cleansing Oil, I was astonished at how well it was able to remove my most stubborn waterproof mascara without any lash breakage nor irritation. Definitely a bonus for me!
When it comes to cleansing oil, some greatest myths are that it clogs pores, gives you oiler skin and greasy feel. As mentioned, I have oily skin and any good cleansing oil does not cause any of the mentioned issues. I’m happy to report that I haven’t experienced any breakout with SUQQU Silky Smooth Cleansing Oi.
I feel that SUQQU Silky Smooth Cleansing Oi is suitable to all skin types. If you have drier skin, this would definitely be lovely to use.
SUQQU Silky Smooth Cleansing Oil makes a perfect first cleanse for me. It fits in well with my skincare routine, removes my makeup well while incorporating some natural goodness into my skin.
You can find SUQQU Silky Smooth Cleansing Oil at SUQQU counters in Selfridges, Harrods or Fenwick Bond Street.
