It has been incredibly hot in the UK and somehow the heat is not as easily tolerated as the heat overseas! I’m bringing out the big guns, SPF 30 doesn’t seem to be sufficient with the sun blazing full blast. SUQQU Face Protector 50 UK is what I have been relying on.
Due to popular demand, SUQQU revamped and brought back the Face Protector last year. From what I understand, both packaging and formula were changed. And as the name suggest, the Face Protector is exclusive to the UK.
Selfridges says:
Award-winning Japanese beauty brand SUQQU is launching its most advance sun protection yet; introducing Face Protector 50, the latest in revolutionary sun care. SUQQU Face Protector 50 provides ground-breaking UV protection to your skin by filtering out UVA and UVB rays. A water-based cream (making it feel smooth not sticky) developed with hard-working ingredients including flat zinc-oxide ADVAN (anti-damaging UV-A network) and water-resistance zinc oxide, Face Protector 50 fits tightly to the skin to create a long lasting UV Veil that is completely water resistant.
The Face Protector comes in a chic little white opaque bottle with a light gold cap. I adore the minimalism of SUQQU packaging. The bottle would fit into the smallest of hand bags.
SUQQU Face Protector is a fluid sunscreen (remember to shake well before use). It has a pink hue that can even out and brighten up my skin tone which I really appreciate. It absorbs very fast and feels super lightweight. My skin feels smooth with no stickiness and no white cast on my NC25ish skin tone. My makeup would go on beautifully. I can’t stress how much I appreciate the weightless feel of SUQQU Face Protector! It allows me to attempt putting makeup on in the unbearable heat.
One thing you might want to know is that the product contains alcohol. I think it is generally the case with all lightweight sunscreens. It also contains fragrance that I can’t seem to detect at all. Personally, I would prefer that it didn’t have either of those mentioned ingredients. However, the product is also enriched with fermented rice and green tea to hydrate as well as providing anti-oxidants, vitamins and anti-ageing properties. It wouldn’t be a sunscreen I use daily, I would save the Face Protector for the really hot days. I need to make the bottle lasts!
Final thoughts
SUQQU Face Protector 50 UK is a brilliant lightweight, high protection facial sunscreen. It’s definitely a fabulous choice for those who have oily skin.
You can find SUQQU Face Protector 50 UK at Selfridges and Harrods.
