A PASSPORT TO GLOW-BECCA ROYAL GLOW

Every woman needs her crown! Becca Cosmetics has made it possible by offering you the ROYAL GLOW!  Just take a look!

Woo hoo! What a beaut right!  I simply couldn’t pass on this limited edition.  That embossed crown is everything!  ROYAL GLOW is aptly released in the month of the British Royal Wedding!  Being a British who needs her glow, I am ecstatic to own this jewel although I knew it was going to hurt deep when I have to swatch it:)

I have always loved Becca highlighters.  I own a few from the brand and will have some swatch comparisons for you later in the post.

In this edition, the packaging comes in a stunning chrome/stainless steel finish.

Inspired by the mystique and beauty of the United Kingdom’s iconic Crown Jewel, ROYAL GLOW is described as a bronzed opal shade, infused with shimmering gold pearl.  It’s a warm medium peachy gold with pink/opalescent shimmers.

As mentioned, I pulled out all Becca Highlighters that I have in my collection to compare.  I find the Royal Glow formula and texture are quite similar to Prosecco Pop, not as soft and creamy as the standalone version of Champagne Pop.  That said, the texture is still very soft and smooth with excellent pigmentation.  I have been using a few different brushes with the Royal Glow, all picks up product and blends out easily.  The finish is a beautiful frosty sheen without emphasising my skin textures or any visible sparkles.  There’s a lovely pink dual chrome shift.  If you are familiar with Becca powder highlighters, you would know they are not subtle highlighters.  I wouldn’t call them metallics neither but luminous with a lit-within effect.  The glow can definitely be intensified further by using a wet brush.  On me, it lasts for around 7 hours before I notice some fading.

Below are some swatch comparisons for you.

These swatches don’t do these highlighters any justice!  The fine shimmers and the glow they impart are beyond stunning!  The swatches were slightly built up and taken in natural lighting.

As you can see the Royal Glow is quite different from the others.  Depending on your skin tone, ROYAL GLOW would make a beautiful highlighter or blush topper.  I love it as both on my medium skin tone.  I have been embracing it with warm, bronzy looks.  I think I would love it even more when I am a little more tanned.

Final thoughts

ROYAL GLOW was a non-negotiable purchase for me.  It’s a beautiful highlighter with a stunning design.  If this is the kind of shade you normally gravitate towards, I think you need to be fast before it sells out!

I purchased mine from John Lewis.  Royal Glow is also available on Becca Cosmetics, Cult Beauty and Space NK.

What do you think of the design?  Will you be getting this jewel?

Thank you for being here today!

Much love always,

Sandyxo
