LANEIGE LIP SLEEPING MASK

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Vanilla

Lip balm is one of those things that you can never have enough of, do you agree?  I’ve lost count of how many I have opened, one in different rooms and bags.  They are something that I always need daily and use multiple times a day.  Having dry lips is one of those banes that I have learnt to live with.  OK I must admit, it doesn’t help that I am rather fond of matte lip products a little too much:)

The LANEIGE LIP SLEEPING MASK range has long been on my lust list to try.  I have come across many wonderful reviews on them.  After years of using many different lip balms, I am intrigued to try a lip mask to find out if it would alleviate my dry lips better.  Well I finally got to try one.  And this one comes in beautiful beige nude packaging too! WIN!

Packaging

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask comes sealed with a lid and a cute little lip applicator as seen below.  I literally couldn’t wait to put my silk sleeping mask on and slap some of this gorgeous vanilla goodness on my lips!

There are four flavours on offer: Berry, Grapefruit, Apple & Lime and Vanilla.

How to use:

Apply a generous layer of mask onto the lips
Wipe off gently with tissue the next morning

The product is a soft paste which melts immediately upon touching my lips to a clear smooth balm.  The sweet vanilla scent is delicious but you can hardly notice it once applied.

The applicator is shaped perfectly for its intended function.  The tip is flexible and spreads product out well.  Truth to be told, I thought I wouldn’t use the applicator.  However, after testing it out I realised it is actually the best way to scoop the product out and apply.  Of course you will want to wash it often to avoid contaminating the rest of the product.

How it works:

During daytime, skin experiences a lot of stress due to reduced moisture as well as exposure to various harmful factors and impurities.  Laneige uses Moisture Wrap Technology which covers the skin with Bio-Polymer mineral network while you sleep, sealing the skin with a moisturising film (like a wrap).  Using the moisture wrap technology at night time would allow increased absorption as the skin barrier has collapsed.  Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is said to softly melt dead skin on the lips while you’re sleeping, which differentiates it to other lip balms.

Furthermore, the lip mask contains a berry mix complex with four types of berries providing your lips with rich vitamins and offers antioxidant effect.

My experience:

After a few weeks of continuous use, my lips are certainly smoother, feeling less parched.  Does it eliminate the need of using lip balms during the day?  No, but the frequency of application is definitely reduced and any flaky skin is removed.

Is it worth the price?  I truly think so.   I have been applying generous amount each night for the last 5 weeks and using it as a balm during the day when needed too,  yet I have barely made a dent in the tub.  I think it probably would take me up to a year to finish it up.  If you have very dry, flaky lips and have tried various lip balms alas not happy with the results, you definitely should give Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask a try.

Lovely review girl! I truly regret I didn’t get this when I was in Taiwan. I definitely should order this… You’ve convinced me! xoxo Sarah
