RODIAL Smokey Eye Sculpt Eyeshadow Palette Review

roadialpalettemain

RODIAL recently introduced their first eyeshadow palette.  It was designed to be the ultimate capsule collection of complementary nude shades.

Firstly, some snaps of the packaging details for your viewing:

The palette is about 10cm (L) x 5cm (W) x 1cm (D).  It is small, compact and portable with a full size mirror.

Here’s a close up of Rodial Smokey Eye Sculpt Eyeshadow Palette:

There are 5 matte shades and one shimmer shade in the Rodial Smokey Eye Sculpt Eyeshadow Platte.  As intended, they are all pretty warm neutral shades for everyday look.

  • Shade 1: Creamy white
  • Shade 2: Light Peach with brown undertone
  • Shade 3: Shimmery Golden Bronze shade
  • Shade 4: Dusty Lilac
  • Shade 5: Royal Mauve
  • Shade 6: Navy Black

Please see the swatches below which were taken indoors in natural lighting.  My arm was moisturised prior to swatching but no primer was applied.

All shades in the palette are extremely finely-milled and very silky to the touch.  I find that all shades are pigmented, especially the shimmery shade.  The shades are light weight, blendable and buildable.  There’s a little dustiness with all shades when I dip my brush in, this does not translate onto my lids.  There is hardly any fallout after application.  With the palette, you can define and sculpt your eyes for a quick, easy look or smoke it out with ease using the darkest shade.  You can line your eyes with shade 6 and of course this is super handy when time is of the essence.  The shades last all day (over 10 hours at least) on my lids on top of my normal primer, without creasing.  On the extremely cold days in London of late, I have been embracing a super quick eye definition using Rodial Smokey Eye Sculpt Eyeshadow Palette and a vampy lip.

I can imagine it would have been a very difficult decision for Rodial to select the 6 shades to include in this palette.  They need to be flattering and versatile yet iconic.  The shades in Rodial Smokey Eye Sculpt Eyeshadow Palette are very natural and easy to use as intended.  They are designed for fuss-free everyday look with the flexibility to enhance to a more smokey, sultry night look.  It does truly achieve that.  If I was to be very picky, I wish that the packaging could be in the Rodial signature look, the chrome and black grainy leather-like material, which would give it an even more luxurious feel.

Overall,  I adore Rodial Smokey Eye Sculpt Eyeshadow Palette.  I would definitely pack this on my next travel as it is portable and durable.  If you are in the market for a capsule collection palette, do definitely check Rodial Smokey Eye Sculpt Eyeshadow Palette out.

Rodial Smokey Eye Sculpt Eyeshadow Palette retails at £35.  You can find it on Rodial website or Harvey Nichols website and counter.

What’s in your capsule makeup collection?  How many eyeshadows do you use on an easy everyday look?

Hope this was helpful.

Until next time beauties.

Much love always,

Great review, Sandy! This palette is absolutely stunning! All the shades are so versatile and flattering! I wish Rodial was more easily accessible in the States, but will do my best to track it down!

    This palette looks great!
I like the idea of a makeup capsule! I don’t think any pre-made palettes would 100% satisfy me though. I much prefer customizable palettes where I can choose colours / textures myself. I think I’d need at least 5 colours to an everyday look.

You can certainly create many looks with the 6 shadows in the palette. I’m more of a convenient garl so palette is the way for me:) But it would be great to customize your own palete!xo

Never tried Rodial makeup but this palette looks really nice & selection of shades is great. For everyday looks I usually use one-two eyeshadows

The packaging reminds me a lot of naked by urban decay. I haven’t try this brand yet, but definitely will after your review. Nothing beat, subtle travel friendly palette in my dictionary of makeup collection ??
