Charlotte Tilbury released Film Noir Nights set as an online exclusive (UK) to celebrate this holiday season. I have BIG love for Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks and it was mandatory for me to purchase the set, obviously:)
Inspired by the hypnotising, seductive, powerful screen sirens of the Noir era, this duo is all about the seductive, smokey eyes and enticing dark lips!
I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package. The duo comes encased in a light-up vintage vanity-mirror-inspired box. A little gimmicky but I love it!
The set features a new Matte Revolution Lipstick in Opium Noir and the Rock’n’Kohl Eyeliner in Bedroom Black.
The box is unique, glam and beauty-room display worthy! You can definitely use it as a makeup organiser or keepsake box.
In general, it is quite hard for me to find a bold, vampy yet flattering shade. Opium Noir managed to wow me as soon as it touched my lips! It is a perfect rich, deep wine shade for Fall and Winter. It glides on my lips beautifully with its amazing pigmentation. For a dark shade, the application is not patchy at all. In line with other Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks, Opium Noir doesn’t feel completely matte, non-drying and light weight. It doesn’t set completely and does transfer. The lasting power of Opium Noir is awesome, it would last more than 6 hours on my lips and fades evenly. As with most lipsticks, the wear time is decreased with eating and drinking.
I tried layering Opium Noir to get as close to the bullet colour as possible. It got very close! With all the layers, you do feel that you’re wearing lipsticks and things start to get very patchy.
Prepping and priming your lips prior to application would enhance the finish of Opium Noir.
Bedroom Black Rock’n’Kohl Eyeliner is meant to be a liquid-eye pencil, enriched with crushed pearl powder (known to stimulate collagen production). It is a perfect black little kohl eyeliner pencil! It’s super pigmented with a creamy texture and glides on effortlessly for a super smooth line of colour. It does set quite fast but you do have a few seconds to smudge it out should you wish to. And yes it stays put from dawn ’til dusk. The lasting power is rather impressive as not many kohl liners manage to last on my oily lids without giving me panda eyes. I have been improvising by setting other kohl liners with a black eyeshadow powder. Bedroom Black doesn’t need to be set! You do need a good eye makeup remover to take this baby off at the end of the day. I like my kohl liner tip to be very pointed so Bedroom Black is sharpened quite often and I feel the pain ha! I’m already dreading the day it would run out!
Here are the important swatches taken in natural lighting on my moisturised arm.
What’s your favourite product from Charlotte Tilbury? What holiday gift sets are you eyeing at the moment?
Hope this was helpful.
Until next time beauties.
