My experience

Firstly, I appreciate the imprint on the powder, it just adds a little something extra. The powder is finely milled and has a smooth velvety texture. Plus I didn’t detect any scent.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve tried various application methods to apply the powder. With pressing and swiping motions, using the included sponge would provide a beautiful medium to full coverage effortlessly with a blurring and flawless finish. When using a dense brush (think kabuki brush), the application is faster and gives me more of a medium finish. Applying with a fluffier brush would offer a natural light coverage.
I’ve tried the powder on its own, over a primer, use it to set tinted moisturisers and foundations as well as setting it loose powder. To my surprise, I found I prefer using the included sponge the best as it offers the most soft-focus finish. Applying the powder foundation on top of a foundation will give you a full flawless beat. I saw another blogger with oily skin using a loose powder to set the foundation and I tried that too. I used Fenty Pro Filt’r Retouch Setting Powder to set and I really liked the finish. Even with the loose powder on top, it didn’t look heavy or over the top and it also enhances the longevity.
I’m really impressed how lightweight and comfortable the finish is. It doesn’t have that obvious dry powder or cakey look with a soft matte finish. Since I haven’t worn any powder foundation for a long time, I went ahead and compared the Fenty powder against a few other matte powder foundations and I can attest that the finish of Fenty Powder Foundation is indeed more natural.
Furthermore, the powder blends effortlessly and the coverage is buildable. It does look less natural as the coverage increases. The powder does a good job to even out my skin tone and cover some light pigmentation. Over any darker marks, you can always apply concealer first. After application, my skin feels silky and velvety to the touch. The foundation truly offers that soft-focus effect and blurring my skin imperfections.
I feel the finish gets better as my natural oil seeps through. Also I tested with and without a setting spray (I tend to always use a setting spray to set my makeup) and I appreciate how the setting spray can increase the longevity along with helping the powder meld into the skin.
I notice very little settling into my crease lines which I’m really happy about (much better than liquid foundations in that sense). On my combo skin, I would want to blot or retouch around the 8 hour mark as I’m starting to look shiny. In addition, I didn’t find it transfer-proof but it didn’t claim to be.

Swatches
Out of three shades I received, I find shade 200 matches me the best, the undertone was not as yellow as 210. I wear shade 210 in the Pro Filt’r Hydrating Foundations normally.
Overall, I think Fenty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation would work on normal to oily skin types. For the best finish, thorough exfoliation and hydration prior application would help.
