“Things aren’t always what they seem. Sometimes you have to kiss a few frogs before you find your prince!” – Poppy King
We all know THAT famous Lipstick Queen emerald green lipstick – Frog Prince, that magically transforms into a beautiful rosebud pink upon contact with the lips. Today I’d like you to meet the NEW members of the Shade Shifter family, Venetian Masquerade, Highway 66 & Old Flame – each works with the pH of your lips to give you a custom colour! Such a fun and exciting concept!
Lipstick Queen Shade Shifters (£22/3.5g) are formulated with the following benefits:
- Combines customised colour and luxurious hydration
- Shea butter and vitamin E hydrate and protect
- Soft, semi-sheer, glossy finish
- Provides tint for the entire day
- Flattering shades that are unique to the wearer
These colour-changing lipsticks aren’t gimmicky and provide you a range of flattering shades. It’s truly satisfying and mesmerising to have a bright orange or green lipsticks turn into a beautiful pink or coral!

OLD FLAME, HIGHWAY 66 and VENETIAN MASQUERADE
By the way, I love the names of these new Shade Shifters!
OLD FLAME: “Nothing is as enticing as an Old Flame.” On my lips, this bright orange hue transforms into a shade of light, flattering coral.
HIGHWAY 66: “The open road is yours.” This cactus green beautifully morphs into a light pinky tangerine on my lips.
VENETIAN MASQUERADE: “Be anyone you dream of being.” Swiping this royal purple once will give a sheer purple tint to my lips or add a few more swipes to build into a vibrant bright fuchsia which I really love.

Lipstick Queen makes some of my favourite lip products, the formulas are always hydrating with amazing colour payoff, you can check out my review on the Rear View Mirror Lipsticks here.
The new Lipstick Queen Shake Shifters are all super hydrating and balmy thanks to Vitamin E and Shea Butter, impart a glossy shine after a few swipes. I like that they feel lightweight on without any stickiness. The application is fussy-free, you can swipe without having to use a mirror.
As soon as each hue touches the lips, it reacts with their warmth and pH to create your most flattering, unique shade to you. So no two pairs of lips will look the same with each of these hues! Also I find them long lasting, giving me beautiful stains as they wear away.

Top – Bottom: Old Flame, Highway 66 and Venetian Masquarade
