As summer was approaching, I planned ahead and wanted to try a BB cream for that lightweight feel. That said, I needed a BB cream that would provide some coverage. After some research, I decided to give Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream a try.
What makes Blemish Balm (BB) attractive is the all in one approach. It can cover blemishes as well as provides skincare benefits and sun protection.
I’m off on holiday soon and Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream contains a high SPF which I was very drawn to. This Missha BB cream is a firm favourite of many and I had high hopes for it!
I like that it comes in a squeeze tube with a pump. That makes it very convenient to pack on travel. I can control the amount of product to be pumped out easy enough.
The shade range
For a Korean BB cream range, Missha M Perfect Cover comes in an impressive 7 shades. I believe the shade range was expanded due to such global love. After searching for swatches online, I settled for shade 27 hoping it would match my nc25ish skin tone.
Shade No. 27 turns out to be perfect for my yellow undertone. With it being a BB cream, it is quite forgiving if it doesn’t quite match your skin tone. I don’t find it oxidising on me that much.
Water(Aqua), Cyclomethicone, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Zinc Oxide, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Mineral Oil, Phenyl Trimethicone, Talc, Arbutin, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Dimethicone, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Squalane, Adenosine, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Polyethylene, Beeswax(Cera Alba), Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Caviar Extract, Algae Extract, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Fagus Sylvatica Bud Extract, Ceramide 3, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Chloride, Fragrance(Parfum), Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Salicylate, Hydroxycitronellal, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Citronellol MAY CONTAIN[+/-; Titanium Dioxide(CI 77891), Iron Oxides(CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499)]
Missha M BB cream contains silicones, mineral oil and parabens. All of which I don’t have any problems with. My skin hasn’t reacted negatively to the ingredients in any way. Also there is a faint floral scent that I don’t find overwhelming.
Fingers are best! Easy and fast! I also love using an oval brush to apply too.
The texture is creamy and gel-like. The product glides on my skin effortlessly, evens out any redness and blurs my imperfections at the same time. The finish is beautiful, slightly dewy and healthy.
I’ve always thought BB creams offer sheer coverage with no lasting power. Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream actually offers some decent coverage, I’d say light to medium and buildable. On my oily skin, it lasts well over 5 hours before I feel the need to blot, which is great. I normally set my makeup with a powder and a mattifying mist.
Although Missha M BB Cream contains SPF, however since I don’t apply liberally enough, I do use a sunscreen first and am happy to slap on the extra SPF from the BB cream. I would use the BB Cream to top up my sun protection during the day. On certain day, I would skip on moisturiser and/or primer – so convenient right!
I have been testing Missha over the last week in the scorching heatwave that we’re having in London and I must say I’m loving it! Surprisingly, it doesn’t get too greasy during wear. What I love and appreciate about it is that it doesn’t break up weirdly, get patchy or gather in my smile lines as the day progresses. Also it doesn’t feel heavy on neither. Definitely one to bring out when then the heat is on!
I will be packing Missha M Full Cover BB Cream on my holiday to Maldives next month. The robust packaging and ease of application make it perfect for travelling. The coverage and longevity are fabulous too.
