I nailed down two of the items which have been on my lust-list for a while from Feelunique recently.  The well raved about Naked Heat Palette from Urban Decay and a new foundation offering from Laura Mercier, the Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation.

Today, let’s talk about base first!  My new found love, The Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation | £35/30ml

It’s crazy but I haven’t tried Laura Mercier bases before!  This new release caught my attention while watching Hey Claire talking about it in one of her videos.  Then Tati from Glamlifeguru declared it could be her Holy Grail and I had to try it.  I got matched to 2 shades at the counter and I picked Dune.  After trying it for 2 weeks, I felt Linen might have been a better match for my undertone.  By now, I have tried the foundation out long enough to know that I really LOVE the formula and without hesitation I ordered Linen from Feelunique.

Well we all know I might never stop looking for “The One” when it comes to foundations.  I enjoy trying out new foundation releases and sometimes I hit the jackpot!

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation comes in an extensive 20 shades.  The foundation is housed in a frosted glass bottle with a pump.  I love the slim, sleek and chic packaging.  The foundation has a slightly thick, creamy texture and has a nice bouncy moussy feel to it.  It is fragrance free which I appreciate.

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Foundation offers almost everything that I’ve looked for in a perfect base.  It glides on effortlessly, smoothing out my skin textures and almost sealing up my pores.  It evens out my redness and covers my blemishes phenomenally.  It sets relatively fast but does allow you efficient time to blend.  The colour stays true all day and doesn’t oxidise on my skin.

Laura Mercier recommends using a sponge for application.  However I do prefer using my oval brushes to apply.  I feel that the foundation glides over my skin imperfections much better.

The finish is matte but not dull or flat.  I truly fell heads over heals with the finish.  My skin looks brighter, flawless and almost airbrushed for hours and hours over my usual mattifying primer.  It feels super comfortable on, not at all drying and with very little product settling into the usual expression lines.  The foundation definitely has the ability to control oil.  I can go about with my day without needing to blot at all.  WIN!

The foundation offers a medium to full coverage, easily buildable.  What impresses me the most is its ability to offer such high coverage without compromising on the natural and light-weight finish.  Be warned, a little goes a long way with this foundation so do build light layers gradually to achieve the most natural finish.

Here are the swatches of Dune and Linen.  Linen has slightly less pink undertone and suits my NC20-25ish complexion better.

I have included the ingredient list for your reference.

I am seriously in love with Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Foundation.  If you want a matte but not flat foundation with incredible oil-control property, this is THE ONE!
