PIXI Fairy Dust Favourites Metallic Warmth Holiday Collection Review

I feel like Tinker Bell when I take these PIXI Fairy Dust Favourites* out to play!  Having said that, my two little princesses are just as excited when they see these little pots on my vanity table!:)

PIXI Fairy Dust Favourites Metallic Warmth is part of the Holiday Collection 2016.  It comes in a stack of 5 pots with a mixture of gorgeous golden bronze, black and berry shades.

I have not played with pigments before.  I’ve always assumed that they would be messy and difficult to apply.  Boy have I been missing out on all the fun!

PIXI Fairy Dust Favourites Metallic Warmth are silky smooth pigments which are easy to pack on the lids and blend out seamlessly.  You can use the shades individually, mix to customize your own shades or layer them to create depth and complex dimensions.

The set contains:

  • Sheer Peach Glow: A golden Peach with a hint of pink Duochrome
  • True Bronze: Golden Bronze shimmer
  • Ruby Sheen: Berry shimmer
  • Sunkissed Amber: Medium Bronze shimmer
  • Black Pearl: Blacked Gray shimmer

PIXI Fairy Dust Favourites Metallic Warmth are packed with pigmentation.  Applying with a dry packing brush on my primed lids yields intense, light weight and long-lasting colours. They last over 6 hours on my oily lids.  The trick is to always tap off the excess back into the pot prior to packing the pigments onto your lids to avoid fall-outs.

The magic of PIXI Fairy Dust Favourites Metallic Warmth really happens when you apply them with a dampened brush, either with just water or a setting spray.  The pigmentation is intensified and the metallic shine comes to life!  When applied this way, the lasting power is also lengthened to a full day wear of over 10 hours.  You still need to tap off the excess back into the pot prior to application to avoid fall-outs.

Without further ado, let me present you with the swatches.  First set of swatches were applied with a dry brush on my moisturised arm and the second with a dampened brush. The captures were taken indoors in natural lighting.

Look at the intensity and shine of the second set of swatches!  Total love!

PIXI Fairy Dust Favourites Metallic Warmth can be used on eyes, cheeks and lips.  I love to use Sheer Peach Glow to pop my highlighters even more.  Sheer Peach Glow adds a little “je ne sais quoi” to my lip look.  Dabbing a little of Sheer Peach Glow on top of my lip products gives it a beautiful iridescent, multi-dimensional fullness.  I kinda wish there was an extra lid provided so I can just carry Peach Glow in my bag for top-ups.

Overall, I love playing with PIXI Fairy Dust Favourites Metallic Warmth.  This set contains gorgeous, warm and festive shades at an attractive price point.  It would be perfect for holiday gifting.  These Fairy Dusts would awaken any fairy in you!:)

PIXI Fairy Dust Favourites Metallic Warmth retails at £12 and available at Pixi, Cult Beauty, Lookfantastic and other stockists.

What’s your takes on pigments? Do you have an inner fairy?

Hope this was helpful.

I hope to speak to you all again before Christmas!

Much love always,

Sandyxo

Sandy these pigments look so beautiful!!! I love the finish and how vibrant and saturated the colors are! Pixi Beauty has been knocking the ball out of the park lately and I always end up adding to my list. Their prices are also very affordable, so it’s a win win in my book! Great review and beautiful photos as always!
