JAPONESQUE Velvet Touch Eyeshadow Palette Fall 2016 Review

One of my most reached for palettes this season is the Japonesque Velvet Touch Eyeshadow Palette Fall 2016.

Japonesque Velvet Touch eyeshadow Palette Fall 2016 contains 8 warm-toned matte shades.  The variety of shades is excellent that would cover you from an easy, natural day look to an intense, smokey night look.

These eyeshadows come housed in a sleek black, sturdy cardboard compact with a strong, secured magnetic closing mechanism.  There is no mirror in the palette, which is not a deal breaker for me as I normally use a large mirror on my vanity table.  The shadows are designated with numbers as shown in the photo below.

Here comes the swatches taken indoors in natural day light.  On my moisturised arm with no primer, all shades swatched beautifully apart from shade number 01 where I had to build it up heavily as it was very similar to my skin tone.

From left to right:

  • 01: Beige
  • 02: Burnt Orange
  • 03: Light pinky Mauve
  • 04: Dark Plum
  • 05: Soft Brown
  • 06: Soft Khaki Taupe
  • 07: Chestnut
  • 08: Dark chocolate

All shades in the Japonesque Velvet Touch Eyeshadow palette are finely milled, buttery and very silky to the touch.  The shades are very pigmented and extremely blendable.  You don’t need to pick up much product at all.  They translate beautifully onto my eyelids and there’s hardly any fall out.  They last incredibly long on my primed lids, lasting over 8 hours.

The Japonesque Velvet Touch palette is very versatile.  I reach for it on those mornings that I just need something to define my eyes and be out of the door.   The palette is also a great choice on days I want to sport a heavy cat eye or a bold lip colour.  You can certainly create a flawless cut-creased with this palette too.

Overall, I adore this Japonesque Velvet Touch Eyeshadow Palette.  It is an excellent matte palette to own, especially if you’re drawn to warm toned eyeshadows or have stacks of metallic/shimmer eyeshadows and need matte shades to complement looks.

You can check out the Japonesque Velvet Touch Eyeshadow Palette at Ulta or Beautybay.

Have you tried anything from Japonesque?  Are you a matte-addict?

Hope this was helpful.

Until next time beauties.

Much love always,

Sandyxo

What a useful palette! I’d love to try Japonesque makeup one day – I don’t know where they’re sold in Canada (we don’t have Ulta here).
