Chanel Fall 2016 collection screams Red. There were lots for me to lust over but I managed to pick up just one of the Illusion d’Ombre Eyeshadows, Rouge Brûlé 128. It is one of the shades that intimidates me… however this time it was love at first swatch…
Rouge Brûlé 128 is a hot copper orange with multidimensional pearly sheen. Like other Illusion d’Ombre eyeshadows, the texture is bouncy and feels wet to the touch but dries down quite quickly. It has excellent pigmentation and blends out beautifully to the coverage you desire. It wears well on my oily lids for over 8 hours before signs of creasing (I always use Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base).
Rouge Brûlé 128 is so perfect for Autumn. You can do a low maintenance wash or go all out with other Autumnal shades. I love incorporating it with Dior Trafalgar palette, Tom Ford Cognac Sable and Honeymoon, and the Illusion d’Ombre Rouge Noir 857 (released Fall 2015).
I love, and would, collect all the Chanel Illusion d’Ombre Eyeshadows. It’s worth mentioning that they tend to dry out in the pot regardless of how I tried to store them (I don’t open them often too).
Overall, I’m really enjoying Chanel Illusion d’Ombre Rouge Brûlé 128. It’s kinda daring, mysterious and warm. It’s a lovely shade that’s lacking in my collection.
