Summer came and I was on a hunt for nice, easy to wear peachy shade lipstick for everyday use(such a crime that I actually don’t have any haha). After seeing a few reviews, I knew Nars Lip Cover Get Dirty was the one!
Get Dirty(you have to giggle at the names Nars created) is part of their Limited Edition “Under Cover” Summer 16 collection. The outer packaging is so pretty and chic. I wish that the printing is on the product itself though.
Here’s what Nars says about Get Dirty:
High pigment liquid lipstick. High fashion effect.
Lip Cover delivers saturated slicks of coastal color steeped in exclusivity and ease.
Rich and lustrous. Luminous finish.
Firstly, let’s discuss the applicator. It is standard spongy one. It’s not so flexible or bendy but I find it easy to line and fill my lips with it.
Hopefully you can see from the swatch, taken in direct sunlight, that Get Dirty is a muted peach with a warm, rosy undertone.
Usually, I am more of a matte, non-transfer liquid lipstick girl but my lips are silently protesting hard:) and Get Dirty sounds like a good alternative choice. Get Dirty definitely doesn’t dry down completely and has a sheen finish to it which does fade after a few hours of wear. The formula is creamy and opaque. Get Dirty is comfortable to wear and lasts for 5 hours on me without drinking or eating. It does transfer and not smudge-proof. It doesn’t seem to bleed even without lipliner. However, I tend to wear it on top of a nude lipliner to prolong longevity. Get Dirty will emphasise any flakiness on your lips so for best results I do prepare my lips with some gentle exfoliation and hydration. On my lips, Get Dirty doesn’t leave any tackiness and light enough for me to forget that I am wearing lip product.
Overall I am a proud owner of Get Dirty. The shade is perfect for my needs and the packaging is perfect. I have been using it almost everyday and admittedly I am falling in love with Get Dirty a little more everyday.
Have you picked up anything from Nars Under Cover collection? Do you gravitate towards liquid lipsticks?
Hopefully I will catch up with you very soon.
Much love always,
