As an avid liquid lipstick lover, I wasn’t planning to skip this new release from Nars! And after checking out a few glowing reviews, I was even more convinced I needed them in my life! Anyway, the name in itself is powerful enough to draw me in already!:)
I purchased two bold and deeper shades on this occasion, in preparation for Fall-Winter season. I have shades Starwoman and Under my Thumb. Nars has cleverly named all the shades in this range with song names, nice little touch right!
Love the sleek, matte black design. I appreciate the little windows so you can see the shades within.
Very thin and liquidy! You have to be a tad careful when pulling the applicator out as you could flick the liquid around and that would be troublesome if your clothing got stained! Since the texture is so thin, it has the tendency to run a little and would get on your gum and teeth. That said, I LOVE the formula. It’s absolutely lightweight and ultra smooth, crazily long-lasting and non-drying. It’s not transfer-proof but even with all the transfer the intensity hardly really wears off. Nars is not kidding when they say these are Powermatte Pigments. The colour pay-off is unreal! A tiny little amount goes a long long way! The Lip Pigments takes a few minutes to dry down on my lips leaving a slight tackiness.
I am a little unsure about this little applicator. It is skinny and quite stiff. It outlines and shapes my lips perfectly. However I find it a little awkward to spread with it at times. I don’t mind it but can’t help wondering if the applicator could be designed a little better.
There are 20 shades available and they are all stunning! I am eyeing up on some nude shades RN. Below are the swatches of the two I picked up.
Starwoman: a stunning classic blue red with matte finish that totally suits any skin tones.
Under My Thumb: a glorious deep berry red with a cool undertone and a matte finish. Love this shade as it almost has a fluorescent glow to it!
I have been obsessed with these Nars Powermatte Lip Pigments. Due to the fact that they are deeper shades, they do require some extra time and a steady hand for application but personally I think it’s totally worth it. Slow Ride is absolutely on my wishlist!
I purchased my from House of Fraser | £23
