If you follow me on Instagram, you would know that gold packaging gets me EVERY.SINGLE.TIME! This golden trio from Max Factor looks so luxe and very high-end! I haven’t tried anything from Max Factor for a while and was excited to test this trio out.
Colour Elixir Lipstick Mulberry 685 | £7.99
First we have the Colour Elixir Lipstick in Mulberry, my favourite out of the 3. I adore that imprint!
What Max Factor official says:
“Colour Elixir Lipstick gives you smooth, soft lips with gorgeous colour.
- Instant fabulous colour.
- Actively moisturises for smoother, fuller lips (vs bare lips)
- A blend of 60% emollients, conditioners and antioxidants including vitamin E.”
Mulberry 685 is a beautiful berry shade with a soft metallic finish. The formula is really lovely, incredibly creamy and silky. Mulberry glides on my lips effortlessly, not emphasising any dry patches nor lip lines. The pigmentation is fabulous, opaque with one swipe. I was impressed by the longevity of Mulberry, lasting over 4-5 hours with negligible bleeding given how creamy the formula is. My lips feel smooth and super hydrated during wear. If you have dry lips or dislike the feel of a matte lipstick, I think you would really appreciate this formula.
Colour Elixir Honey Lacquer Honey Nude| £9.99
Then we have the Colour Elixir Honey Lacquer Honey Nude. I find the packaging beautifully sleek and chic with all the gold detailing.
“3 in 1 lip lacquer: Bold colour, smooth and shine.
- Smooth as a lip balm
- Shine of a lip gloss
- Colour of a lipstick”
Honey Nude is a light pinkish brown. It’s a beautiful MLBB kinda shade. Honey Nude lives up to the official claims. It is so easy to wear! It goes on smoothly, quite opaque with one coat. It is definitely moisturising with a high glossy finish. It is not sticky at all and feels light on my lips. I don’t normally gravitate towards lip glosses but I have to say Max Factor has pleasantly surprised me. On somedays, I’m happily applying one or two layers of Honey Nude and I’m good to go. There is a sweet scent to the lacquer which dissipates once applied. Honey Rose lasts 1-2 hours on my lips, I guess that’s the standard longevity of a lip gloss. I don’t mind re-applying it at all!
Colour Elixir Lip Liner Universal | £4.99
Isn’t it amazing that no matter what colour lip you want to wear, you could rely on the same Lip Liner to re-shape, re-size and nourish your lips, while it helps to hold colour firmly in place! This invisible Lip Liner indeed helps prevents bleeding, feathering and smudging. It applies smoothly without any tugging. I love applying the liner all over my lips to give it some added volume.
I enjoyed testing out the Colour Elixir trio. Mulberry would make an awesome shade to wear during Autumn. Honey Nude is such a fuss-free, easy every day lip product to reach for.
