Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in Terra Review

terrsmainbestI’m not normally a bronzing lover.  But for Tom Ford…of course I will convert:) Besides, I have heard only good things about Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in Terra so when Tom Ford beauty brought out the mini version of the bronzer, I jumped at the chance to try it out.

The limited edition Terra packaging is gorgeous!  It is square with round edges, flat in a glossy white shell with gold trimmings.  Inside, there’s a full size mirror and the product in a round pan in the middle of a shiny gold surface.  Tom Ford logo is elegantly placed on a long gold clasp.  The compact comes with a white suede-like protective pouch and comes in a gold box.

Terraback

terramirror1Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in Terra is a medium-dark brown with a very subtle hint of warm red undertone.  There is no shimmer in Terra but the finish is not totally matte and does not appear dull or flat.  Tom Ford Terra does not turn orange on my medium skin and is noticeably cooler.

Terra is a very finely milled, silky and smooth to the touch and very densely packed in the pan.  There is no powder kick-up when I dip my brush in.  The pigmentation is light making it very easy to use.  I can add a hint of warmth to my complexion or add some light contouring without it looking muddy.  You can not see the contour lines but it definitely lifts the face. What amazing about Terra is that it seems to blend seamlessly into my skin without much blending needed. My pores and skin texture thankfully are not emphasised at all.

Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in Terra lasts well on my skin, around 7 hours before I see some fading around the edges of my face.

Here is a close up of Terra taken indoor with no flash:

I pulled out the well-loved Benefit Hoola Bronzer and Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder to compare.  To my eyes, Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in Terra has some coolness of Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder but still has the warmth like Hoola.  This makes it very versatile and natural.  I find Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in Terra much easier to use than Benefit Hoola.  A lot of blending with some added skill is needed to stop me from looking overdone with Benefit Hoola🙂

Terraswatch1Verdict:  Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in Terra is expensive for sure.  You are paying for the lush packaging too.  But given the naturalness, versatility and ease of use, if you are a fan of bronzing and contouring it is a product you must try.   I love Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in Terra and look forward to be bronzed more often.

I purchased my Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in Terra from House of Fraser(online only).  If you want the mini version, you should hunt for it fast at House of Fraser, Selfridges, Harrods and Harvey Nichols.

Have you tried Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in Terra?  What is your favourite bronzer?

Thank you for reading.

I love the KA more for contouring and for quite awhile now have been devoted to the Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow for an all over bronzer and highlight. I haven’t tried any TF products yet, but they look amazing!
