Introducing Guerlain Rouge G Legendary Reds, a collection celebrating iconic Guerlain lip shades and rich heritage. It is incredible to learn that in 1828, Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain created his first liquid product for adding colour to the lips and cheekbones, titled “Bloom of Rose”. Today, with the Rouge G Legendary Reds collection, Guerlain celebrates this heritage with three iconic reds, now reinterpreted in two emblematic finishes (satin and velvet matte) to form six classic shades. They are absolutely stunning, keep scrolling for all the details and photos.
Guerlain Rouge G Legendary Reds
As mentioned, there are three iconic reds and each red is associated with its year of creation.
- 1830 Rouge du Tigre: a brick red. The very first red shade created by Guerlain in 1830 for the lip and cheek colour ‘Bloom of Rose’! The shade was inspired by Asian lacquer art and the brown-red tones.

- 1870 Rouge Impérial: a deep berry red which is created to celebrate Guerlain’s first lip colour in a stick Ne M’oubliez Pas launched in 1870. This colour was inspired by the opulent fabrics worn by the royal figures.

- 1925 Roi Des Rouges: a vibrant red that Guerlain created for the Roaring Twenties, a celebration of the changing of feminine beauty during the era. And almost a century later, this red remains the most intense of the whole collection.

Packaging

I love Guerlain’s rich heritage as well as their exquisite packaging. The attention to details are always beyond. In this incredible collection, there are four velvety red cases to match: Red Velvet, Majestic Ruby, Royal Burgundy and Luxurious Garnet. The cases are stunning, collector- and handbag-worthy. In addition, the bee embossing on each bullet is adorable. You can also add the final touch by adding a personalised engraving.
I was lucky to receive 1830 & 1870 in the velvet matte finish and shade 1925 in satin finish. They are all incredible to wear. The bullet shape allows effortless application with precision. The colour payoff is amazing, both finish feel very comfortable and non-drying on. What’s more, they last forever! All three reds are brightening and empowering, my favourite shade is 1870 – I love a deep, teeth-whitening red.

Guerlain Rouge G Legendary Reds Collection is available to purchase now at Guerlain boutiques. I think these red lipsticks would make the most perfect Valentine’s Day present! Which legendary red would you choose?
Much love always,
Sandyxo
