Guerlain recently relaunches their L’Art et La Matière collection. The eleven iconic scents of the collection are joined by four of the House’s beloved fragrances, which have been renamed for the occasion – Frenchy Lavande, Herbes Troublantes, Œillet Pourpre and Épices Volées (formerly Le Frenchy, Un Dimanche à la Campagne, Lui and Arsène Lupin Voyou, respectively) – as well as by two new compositions – Rose Chérie and Santal Pao Rosa.

The Haute Parfumerie range has been repackaged into Guerlain beautiful heritage square bottles from 1870. In addition, each bottle can be personalised in many ways, from the cord and seal to beautiful varieties of plates and engraving. I really love the new bottle! The design looks and feels luxurious, so much attention in the details. The options of adding your personalised touches can make it even more unique.

Santal Pao Rosa

Personally, I gravitate towards sandalwood scents during the colder months so I was excited to try Santal Pao Rosa and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s an intoxicating and sensual blend of sandalwood and rose. The scent is spicy, oudy, dark yet warm and sweet. It’s cozy and comforting, so gorgeous to wear on a cold, windy autumn day.

Key notes include sandalwood, myrrh and agarwood and rose. The scent of sandalwood is underpinned by fig and hazelnut tones, and refreshing cardamom.

Rose Chérie

If you like rose based fragrances, Rose Cherie is a must-try. The opening is sparkly, syrupy sweet and feminine. I love the dry down, simply sublime! I get almond, violet and lots of powder. The result is a soft, sweet, powdery and sophisticated scent. The blend is so smooth and simply melts into my skin. On me, Rose Cherie lasts a long time, I can still smell it on my clothing the next day.

Key notes include Damascena rose composed of Bulgarian rosewater and essence, Turkish rose absolute, and the Centifolia with its sought-after Grasse absolute. Other notes include green almond, pink raspberry, white heliotrope and mauve violet.

The L’Art & La Matière collection is sold exclusively at guerlain.com and all Guerlain Boutiques, as well as at selected counters across the world.

What’s your favourite Guerlain fragrance?

Much love always,

Sandyxo
