FRENCH GLOW – LANCÔME’S 2019 SUMMER COLLECTION

This summer, to celebrate the 230th anniversary of the French Revolution, Lancôme is launching a limited edition Maxi Bronzer and repackaging three iconic L’Absolu Rouge Shades.

The artistic nautical striped packaging is super pretty and reflects a French state of mind: Liberté, Egalité and Féminité (Liberty, Equality and Femininity).  The collection pays tribute to the beauty of female empowerment and freedom.  I couldn’t wait to snap some closeups and dig in!

FRENCH GLOW MAXI BRONZER | £42/14g

This is a HUGE bronzer!  Containing 14g with a generous 80mm diameter format, this will help you glow through all summer long and possibly many more to come!

There are 2 shades available, 01 Light Liberté and 02 Warm Sensualité.

Each glow powder is embossed with the 3 French state of mind and LANCÔME.  There’s a gradient of 4 shades in each powder, all infused with super tiny gold pearls.  The shimmers are more concentrated in some shades than the others.

I have been trying out shade 01 which is perfect for my light-medium skin tone.  The powder texture is soft and creamy.  You can easily pick up product with a soft fluffy brush.  The powder blends and diffuses beautifully without any patchiness nor emphasising my skin imperfections.  The colour payoff is excellent yet you can definitely build up the coverage gradually.  The shimmer is subtle, you won’t end up with a glittery face. I love the rosy undertone of the bronzer and am happy to forsake my blusher.

For a sun-kissed glowing healthy complexion, you can swipe your brush and apply to the areas of your face where the sun would hit.  I find it quite easy to concentrate a small brush in the darker shade for a subtle contour.

Personally, I love to use the bronzer as eyeshadow too, it’s super convenient when you don’t have much time!

L’ABSOLU ROUGE LIPSTICKS | £25.50

The sleek packaging of these lipsticks has been increased a notch with the nautical stripes. Additionally, I adore the formula of L’Absolu Rouge, they wear well and very comfortable with great colour payoff.

There are three shades in the limited edition packaging. I was sent shade 186 Idôle to test.

• 186 Idôle: soft matte finish, a flattering and brightening coral red – such a perfect shade for summer! It glides on my lips effortlessly with a smooth velvety feel.  This shade has a dimensional matte finish and doesn’t feel drying on my lips.
• 132 Caprice: cream finish, a bright red 
• 290 Peome: cream finish, a muted pink
