I have an exciting launch from SkinCeuticals to share with you today.

Neckline is a such tell tale sign of your age.  That said, I’m guilty of always neglecting my neck when doing my skincare routine! This September, SkinCeuticals is launching Tripeptide-R Neck Repair Cream (£110/ 50ml) to address visible neck ageing.

I was lucky to receive a sample straight from the lab to test out ahead of the launch.  Furthermore, I was super excited to learn the ingredient list of this triple function corrective cream!  The formula contains glaucine, tripeptides and retinol which are clinically proven ingredients, formulated to firm and define the skin on the neck.  If you’re a regular reader, you might know Retinol is one of my favourite skincare ingredients and SkinCeuticals formulation is one of the best I’ve tried (full review here).

Characteristics of skin on the neck

  • Thin and fragile, similar to skin in the eye area
  • Produces fewer lipids than facial skin leading to a weaker skin barrier
  • Declines in collagen over time
  • Necklines and wrinkles can occur due to repetitive movements and can be five times deeper than on the face!

To counteract these specific characteristics, SkinCeuticals has created Tripeptide-R Neck Repair Cream targeting visible neck ageing.

Key Ingredient features and benefits – Triple-Action Technology

  • Stimulate: 0.5% Glaucine (yellow poppy extract).  This is a new ingredient to me.  It’s known for its inhibitory effect on fat cells, stimulates lipolysis to reduce submental fullness
  • Organise: 2.5% Tripeptide unifies collagen and elastin fibres for improved quality to prevent and correct the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Strengthen: 0.2% Pure Retinol strengthens collagen fibres to improve firmness

How to

Since the product contains Retinol, as always if you’re new to the ingredients, start slowly by applying 1 pump every other night and gradually increase frequency to 1 application per night.  Once skin has fully acclimatised, you can increase to twice daily use.  To apply, I distribute a pump of product into both hands and practise the SkinCeuticals signature neck massage.  Gently glide my hands upwards from the collarbone to jawline, then from centre of my neck towards the back and finish off by sculpting the jawline with my hands by firmly pressing my palms along the area.  I also bring my hands from my décolletage and sweep upwards too.

My Experience

It has been over 3 weeks since I’ve incorporated SkinCeuticals Tripeptide-R Neck Repair into my routine.  Prior to using the Tripeptide-R Neck Repair, I’ve intermittently applied retinol creams to my neck and décolletage therefore I knew I would be ok with using Tripeptide-R Neck Repair daily straightaway.

The consistency of SkinCeuticals Tripeptide-R Neck Repair is smooth and creamy, super easy to spread across a large area.  I love how lightweight, non-sticky and fast-absorbing the cream is.  There is a calming lavender and rosemary scent that is very pleasant, also I  haven’t had any irritation from it.

After consistently using the cream for over 3 weeks, I have seen visible changes to the skin texture and fine lines.  I’m pleased that my skin feel smoother, looks more even and youthful.  The fine lines and creases have eased up.  I’m happy to report that SkinCeuticals once again doesn’t disappoint.  Definitely a new gem in my skincare stash!

Remember skincare is a journey and always wear sunscreens!
